Dissemination Update April 2019
In addition to direct service and public outreach activities, informing healthcare professionals on a nationwide level of the impact and need for our treatment is a priority.
On April 5th, MCHS Occupational Therapists presented an interactive workshop at the annual conference of the American Occupational Therapy Association in New Orleans, LA. The workshop instructed participants on adopting evidence-based interventions and highlights the process used by MCHS to translate COPE (Care of Persons with Dementia in their Environments) into community practice.
The Occupational Therapists will meet with research experts and other grantees of ACL funding to discuss innovation in home and community-based dementia care.
MCHS has been fortunate enough to partner with the Association for Aging with Developmental Disabilities through funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This leads to the incredible opportunity for MCHS to participate in the upcoming Annual Aging with Developmental Disabilities Conference on May 20th & 21st in St. Charles, MO. We currently serve on the conference planning committee and will be one of the vendors at the event.
