To the congregation, Cynthia and Tommie Ringo are the fueling force behind their parish ministry. To their children, they are role models and spiritual guides. On January 20th, 2010, Tommie was diagnosed with dementia. His beloved wife of 43 years, Cynthia, embraced the role of caregiver. To some, this signifies a beginning to the end. For the Ringo’s, it was the beginning to a driving force in their ministry and personal lives.
In addition to physical health, Cynthia also is a strong believer in mental and spiritual health. She relies on Memory Care Home Solutions for professional advice on everything from home safety to peace of mind when the going gets tough.
Two years ago, Cynthia started her first annual Health and Wellness Event in St. Louis, which includes a 5k run, a fitness challenge, and features informed speakers to educate the attendees on health issues. For this, she received an award from President Obama congratulating her on her successful event and expressing his appreciation for her positive influence on society.
Professionals at Memory Care Home Solutions have always encouraged caregivers to maintain good health in order to take better care for their loved ones. With a renewed energy and appreciation for life, Cynthia provides the highest quality of care for her husband, and still celebrates the man he was before the diagnosis of dementia. The kind, caring, faithful, and motivational man is still admired by their children, and loved dearly by all.
